spoock posted a quick translation on the BI forums- low framerate (20fps) on PC HW (C2D 3 GHz, 4GB RAM a GF GTX-260 s 896 MB RAM),res.: 1280x1024 and highest details
- reduction graphic resolution hadn't some effect for better framerate, but reduction graphic details was much good (decrease visibility under5km hadn't some impact on framerate)
- set medium graphic details raised framerate on 35-40fps
- engine wasn't checkout in preview build
- AI is not so good on open areas (standart situations as we knows inArmA or OFP, when AI overlie, check all sides and continue in move)
- AI had problem with orientation around houses (aim to fence, not to open area)
- AI doing better cover (going around obstacles) Maruk stated the following about this new information!
Quote Maruk :
Two little details to this:1) games tiscali broke embargo dategiven to all media world wide, which is tomorrow, why they did it, Ireally don't know. Also I suggest to read their comments with optics ofthat review of Arma 1: if you see Arma 1 the way their review, I thinkyou will see Arma 2 that way as well: http://games.tiscali.cz/reviews/arma/index.asp.
2) All screenshot posted there made by them have wrong aspect ratio(looks like captured in 16/10 but posted as 4/3) which creates evenworse impression. Anyway, let's wait for more previews to come next week and the week after for more balanced opinion.

Hi, i'm editor of Tiscali Games, to comment and correct Maruk's statement regarding recent news:Justto clear up the confusion: these screenshots are no way broken, no badaspect ratio. This is how it comes directly from the game(preview-version), when set to 1280x1024 and 4:3 and high details =standard setting allowed by the game. We haven't done any conversion ofthe ratio or resolution of screenshots.
We also didn't break the embargo for hands-on impressions, which willbe released tomorrow. This was only small teaser, as our standardmarketing practice.
As for Maruk's reference to ArmA 1 subjective review (written by one ofTG's 30 freelancers): maybe would be helpful to learn how to accept anycritism regarding his child and don't take everything way too muchpersonal.

- Intel 3GHz Dualcore CPU, 4GB Ram, Geforce GTX 280 GPU. Graphic settings on high and very high with Full HD support. The viewdistance was set at max 4000m.
- The sudden appearance of textures and details (LOD's) has been reduced dramaticaly and will now happen with max capacity or in the far distance for example when you look through the bino's or use the free camera to "fly" over the area.
- With the action menu the player is able to drag friendly units which have been shot into safety. You will move slowly backwards in a crouched state. While doing this you can still fire your weapons from the hip, of course this will not be very precise. Once in safety you can heal the wounded unit.
The same system works if a player is shot and will increase teamplay in MP and make it more easy for new players to survive a mission.
- High Command:
o With the use of the map the player can set waypoints for the troops to influence the battle. Every team under control will report contact and the radio message seem to be a lot less robotic as it was in OFP and Arma.
o NATO symbolics to identify friendly and enemy troops is used. On the lower part of the screen the player is able to show his own squad members or complete squads.
o The ordering system has been simplified, its now using a point and click system. You can use this for single units or complete squads.
o Higher in rank the player will even be able to build complete bases with a free moving camera. This system was first introduced in Arma warfare and continued in Arma 2.- The default 2D mission editor has not been changed a lot but new in Arma 2 (its not sure though if it will be released together with the first release of the game) is the 3D editor. Using this the player is able to add units while in mission same as how we are able to do it in warfare mode. Also complex fortifications can easily be placed while using a submenu of pre-defined object setups.
- The player will be able to do HALO jumps where it can controle its path. During the freefall animations and camarawork will give the player the impression of the speed during a freefall.
- Realistic vehicle interiors
- Reworked a more realistic and complexer VTOL for the Harrier.
- The buildings on Chernarus seem to be at least partial dynamic destructible. Certain building will crumble partially and the leftovers from the buildings will still be enterable. But the largest portion of the building will destruct as how they do now in Arma.
- The TOW Launcher has Steerable rockets through the optics.
- Securom copy protection
- No modding tools at release
- Improved HDR
- Improved handeling for armor
- Features from VBS1 and VBS2 have been implemented for Arma 2 as well, tracers and scriptcommands for example
