Facebook Fan Questions Answered by the Dev Team!

Earlier this month, we started gathering questions you fans had regarding specifics of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. We sent the questions to HQ so that the dev team could answer accordingly. Now we’re happy to present answers. Thank you for your patience!

Q. Does anyone know if you can customize your weapon with your choice of attachments available? E.g., an M4 with a suppressor, fore-grip and ACOG, not just preset load-outs you have to select from. Hope this makes sense.

A. It’s preset load-outs in keeping with realism. In real life USMC, Marines are assigned equipment suitable to complete the mission at hand. They usually don’t get to pick and choose their own attachments.

Q. Is the game going to have the M14 without a scope?

A. There is no M14 in the game, only the M21. The M21 is available only in scoped form.

Q. Is there going to be like a training camp at the beginning? To take some practice shots or something?

A. The first mission acts as a tutorial to ease you into the game and get you familiar with how to play OFP: DR, but as for a training camp situation, that is not present in the game. You’ll be diving headfirst into the action.

Q. This is from a Flashpoint Forum Hero. What build was used in the test by Game Informer? Was it a build that was from around E3 or PAX? Or is it near completion?

A. It would have been an old preview build, meaning many improvements to the game have since been made after they received the code. We polished up the game nice and pretty since then, so expect great improvements since the old previews.

Q. Are there any “Easter Eggs” in this game?

A. Some missions have bonus objectives that aren’t classified as formal primary and secondary objectives. But as for actual Easter eggs, I’m afraid I don’t know.

Q. What’s the DLC going to be like in this game?

A. We aren’t quite ready to release our exact plans for DLC content just yet. Needless to say we will be fully supporting the game after launch with additional DLC packs and we hope to keep the cost of these as low as possible.

Q. Can someone officially confirm for me whether or not the “bonus” missions for pre-orders are on the disc already, or are they DLC? Will the codes be generic (can be used more than once) or disc secured (can only be used with the disc it comes with)?

A. The “bonus” missions can be found on the disk. The codes are used to unlock the content meaning that no additional download is needed. J

Q. Will there be a ghillie suit involved? Also, what are the load times like for it?

A. There are no ghillie suits in the game.
